The course consists of the following units and topics:
1. Main concepts of the systems theory.
Topics: Concepts defining the system struxture. System components, relation, structure, external environment. Definition of a transport system.
2. System functioning.
Topics: System process characteristics. Definition and structure of the control system. Control automation.
3. Systems modeling.
Topics: Models of complex systems. Classification of types of modeling. Building mathematical models.
4. Systems analysis.
Topics: Principles and structure of the systems analysis. Evaluation of complex systems. Basic measuring scales.
5.Evaluation of systems.
Topics: Indicators and criteria of systems evaluation. Methods of the qualitative systems evaluation. Examples of conceptual models and methods of systems evaluation.
Activities:
- Teacher-led group activities in a classroom;
- Extracurricular self-study of the teacher’s assignments and tasks, including the use of educational facilities (obligatory);
- Tutorials.
