The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering was founded in 1968.

More than 7 thousand mechanical engineers have been trained here.

The highly qualified teaching staff of the faculty includes 2 Honoured Scientists of Russian Federation, 11 Professors, Doctors of Science, 52 Assistants Professors, Candidates of Technical Science, 120 lecturers.

 Teaching is conducted in four specialities:

• “Metallurgical Machines and Equipment”.
• “Elevating and Transporting Machines and Equipment”.
• “Technology of Machine Building”.
• “Machines and Technology of Plastic Metal Working”.

There is the Doctor Dissertation Council and the Post-graduate Department.

The priority is given to the following scientific trends:

• service life increase of the units of mechanical equipment by plating of parts surfaces with different materials;
• new technologies of roll casting and processes of parts restoration by surfacing;
• calculation methods of manipulation systems with flexible connections;
• little waste technologies and the equipment for strip rolling, stamping and hardware production;
• development of theoretical and technological fundamentals of tool and deformed metal treatment for producing the output with high-quality surface.
