Mikhail Chukin, Rector of Nosov Magnitogorsk State Technical University, the flagship university of the Southern Urals, gave an interview describing prospects of the university before its 85th anniversary.

The Master’s students from the University of Padua AntonioComazzetto and MattiaFranceschi are currently studying at NMSTU under the Erasmus+ academic mobility programme. During one semester, they will do theoretical and practical training, which will form the basis for their Master’s theses.
With the purpose of promoting cooperation, NMSTU’s vice rector for international affairs Aleksey Korchunov has recently paid a visit to the Technical University of Ostrava in the Czech Republic. Nosov Magnitogorsk State Technical University has won a grant of one the major charity foundations of Italy. The foundation will provide funding to support a research project that will look at using TRIP steel in metalware production.
This year, Nosov Magnitogorsk State Technical University again ranked in TOP-300 of the QS Emerging Europe and Central Asia ranking.
For the third year in a row, NMSTU is ranked in TOP-300 of the QS EECA ranking, which ranks universities from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey and Ukraine. This year, more indicators were used for evaluation. Thus, this year’s ranking included such indicator as International Cooperation in Scientific Research, which looks at the international projects, joint publications and grants a university is involved in.
