1 2 From 30 April to 10 May 2015 Moscow saw the world largest international all-in dance project: the 12th World Dance Olympiad.

At all times this event attracts best dancers from every corner of the world and has a record prize fund – 660,000 rubles.

For 11 days four platforms of the exhibition complex Sokolniki were shared by dance teams from various countries and regions participating in non-stop competitions on over fifty dance styles: hip hop, flamenco, tango, salsa, Bollywood show, sport, ball-room and Oriental dances, folk dances, break dance, cheerleading and many others.

The event was organized by a Russian representative office of the World Art and Dance Alliance (WADA), the All-Russian Dance Organization, the Russian Cheer Union, the Russian Sport Choreography Federation and others.

The Olympiad attracted over 25,000 participants from 40 countries who managed to turn sport competitions into an unprecedented show full of joy and bright emotions for visitors who could take a dive into unrivalled atmosphere of dances and enjoy all the variety of existing dance styles.

The Bonus conceptual choreography team from NMSTU, representing our city, came back home with awards: guys won the first place on the Russian Cup and the World Cup as part of the 12th World Dance Olympiad, adding an international award to their collection of many titles.

Iliya Kozhanov, team leader, expressed his sincere gratitude to the authorities of the University, the Department for Education, the Primary Trade Union Organization of Students and Postgraduates of NMSTU, and to Vadim A. Bobrovsky, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Chelyabinsk Region, for their support in organization of the trip.
