Best students from NMSTU underwent a practical training in Turkey

On the 27th of July a group of NMSTU students and teachers returned from Iskenderun (Turkey) where students underwent a practical training at CJSC ММК Metalurji, a modern metallurgical plant.The group included best students majoring in Metallurgy and Electrical Power and Electrical Engineering. The training was supervised by Associate Professor Alexander A. Nikolaev, PhD (Eng.), the Head of the Automated Electric Drives and Mechatronics Department, the Power Engineering and Automated Systems Institute, and Associate Professor Alexander S. Limarev, PhD (Eng.), the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Standardization, Chemistry, and Bioengineering.
The students familiarized themselves with technical, process and organizational characteristics of the plant. The majority of them continued their research on an increase in reliability of electrical power supply of drives of hot and cold rolling mills and improvement of the quality of finished steel products and efficient performance of the metallurgical plant in general. Local specialists shared available information and assisted in going into detail on all issues.
All the students got certificates on the practical training which will contribute to building a career in Russian and foreign companies. The collected information will be used to prepare graduation theses and research papers.
