The plenary meeting was opened by First Vice Rector, Vice Rector for Research and Innovation Mikhail Chukin, who welcomed both mature and young researchers to the conference.

The plenary meeting listened to the reports by A.M. Glezer, D.Sc., Professor, Head of Bardin Central Research Institute for Ferrous Metallurgy in Moscow; V.N. Trofimov, Professor at the Department of Machine Dynamics and Robustness of the Perm National Research Polytechnic University; and A.N. Abramov, Ph.D., Associate Professor at the Department of Nanotechnology of the Ufa State Aviation Technical University.

The forum comprised three sections: Developing innovative technologies and tackling the import substitution issues in metal forming; Fundamental issues of mathematical modelling and optimization of metal forming technology; Innovative techniques  in metalware and pipe production.

The best speakers were announced at the end of the forum.
