New International Partnership

A cooperation agreement between NMSTU and the Magnitogorsk Public Organization of Peoples’ Friendship MOST, which represented the Republic of Serbia, was signed on July 1st in the university conference room. The agreement is aimed at promoting tighter relations between NMSTU and its Serbian partners in the areas of education, science, culture, sports and social projects.

In his welcoming speech, the NMSTU Vice Rector for International Affairs Aleksey Korchunov highlighted the ever growing scale of international cooperation that NMSTU is involved in. He also said that due to that our university was now ranked among the TOP 200 universities by QS World Universities Rankings. So this new relationship with Serbia is coming at a good time. The NMSTU Rector Valery Kolokoltsev pointed out that Serbia and Russia are two brotherly nations and that the new agreement was only a legal proof of the fact that the cooperation between the two nations has strong historic grounds. The rector’s statement won a round of applause.

MOST Chairman Goran Stošić said that he had a letter from the leadership of the University of Kragujevac in Serbia in which they state their willingness to collaborate with NMSTU. Right upon signing the agreement, MOST Chairman of the Board Mr. Dedushev and his deputies named particular areas of prospective cooperation with NMSTU.

So our university has won another prospective international partner. And the coming months shall bring new exciting projects.
