On March 13, NMSTU welcomed Vincent Szymanski and his first lecture that he presented in the context of the Russian-French seminar with the following title: Power Converters for Variable Frequency Drives. The Problems of Power Quality. Introduction into Electromagnetic Compatibility.
Vincent Szymanski is a member of the Department of Power Engineering and Industrial Computing at Jean Monnet University, Saint-Etienne, France. Alexander Nikolaev, Head of NMSTU’s Department of Automated Electric Drives and Mechatronics, tells about the cooperation with the French university:
“It would be worth mentioning that our cooperation with Jean Monnet University has quite a long history. However, it was only a year ago that we started to work together in such areas as power engineering, mechatronics and robotics. In the last year we had two visits by lecturers from France who came under the framework of Erasmus+ Programme. Last year I travelled to France to give lectures to French students. At the moment we have four students from France at NMSTU who are taking a semester-long course in electric drives and mechatronics. And this September three of our students will travel to study at Jean Monnet University. It would be safe to say that our joint work is moving along, we have big plans. We are currently engaged in joint publications, and the plan is to implement joint student projects in robotics.”
