Representatives of Indian companies visited NMSTU

On 11-13 December 2018 NMSTU welcomed the representatives of Indian companies: Bhide Vasant Chandrakant, Director for Development of International Business, Saroj Industries, and Srivastava Gyanendra Narain, General Director, owner of Omhanu Machines PVT.LTD.

“Today we meet the colleagues from India, representatives of Saroj Industries, a large holding. The purpose of the visit is to discuss common points and specific possibilities of cooperation, which we have established not only with Indian universities, but also with industrial companies. We consider all options, including potential establishment of the international center of collaboration on technology”, said Oleg N. Tulupov, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, opening the meeting.

The group of companies, consisting of a machinery complex, electronic production and software development, regularly receiving large orders from the Indian Ministry of Defense, pays close attention to production and processing of special steels and alloys.

In view of the above, a visit to a unique laboratory and industrial complex of the university was of considerable interest. They discussed the possibilities of development of techniques for production and processing metals with a controlled set of properties, including surface microtopography.

The parties came to an understanding of a pre-design study of the low volume production of steels and alloys at Saroj Industries with production techniques for definite alloys and parts, later developed by the university.

As part of the visit, representatives of Saroj Industries undertook a guided tour of the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works and the university recreation center near the Bannoe Lake.
