NMSTU is in THE World University Rankings 2022

For the first time, NMSTU was included into THE World University Rankings 2022.
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings are one of the Big Three world university rankings published since 2004. This year the ranking included 1662 universities from 99 countries and regions of the world.
NMSTU ranked number 1201 in the world and was included into the top 60 Russian universities.
“A rank in one of the leading world rankings is a result of focused activities of the University’s team for many years. This is a very important event for us. We can say that by achieving such result, we completed our work on building an international brand of the University”, mentioned Alexei Korchunov, Vice Rector for International Affairs, NMSTU. “Now we can step up to a new level of communications with international partners and investors. This is also a good benchmark for foreign students who would like to receive education at a Russian university”.
Performance of universities was assessed by analyzing indicators in five areas: teaching, research, citations, international outlook, and industry income. This year the last criterion was the most indicative for NMSTU. It is used to assess universities’ ability to help the industry in the field of innovations, inventions and consulting. According to the methodology of the ranking, this indicator reflects readiness of companies to pay for research, and universities’ performance to raise funds from the commercial market. Regarding this indicator, NMSTU ranked number 803 among 1662 participants included into a published part of the ranking.
A high global visibility of the University was enhanced by experience of international research and educational collaboration, an increased number of research papers published in the global research citation databases, designed educational programs taught in English and comfortable environment for foreign students.
“The University puts in a great deal of effort to be “a center of attraction” for foreign students, professors, partners; and our effort was reflected in this ranking”, explained the Vice Rector.
