Objects of professional activities of the Master of Social work are the following:

  • Social groups, ethno-national classes, families and individuals seeking for social assistance, help, protection, and social service;
  • Civil society organisations, foundations, associations, unions;
  • Enterprises, institutions, organisations, authorities of social security, social service, social insurance, public health, occupational pension, and education;
  • Social responsible business;
  • Functioning and development of the social work and social management system at the federal, regional, and municipal levels.

The Master of Social work is trained for the following professional activities:

The Master of Social work specialising in “Social work with different population groups” is trained for solving the following professional problems:

In the field of scientific research:

  • To provide theoretical justification of scientific research methods;
  • To manage access, processing, interpretation, and storage of scientific information about social work issues at the federal, regional, and municipal levels;
  • To conduct an independent, creative analytical research of the top development lines of the social work theory and practice in Russian and abroad;
  • To study, predict, and analyse the current social work issues;
  • To conduct a research on development and implementation of modern, efficient social technologies;

In the field of teaching:

  • To teach at educational institutions of the Russian Federation;
  • To administer and run educational process;
  • To apply academic skills in social practice;
  • To study issues of the educational process administration and management at educational institutions of the Russian Federation;

In the field of social project activities:

  • To develop project-based analysis and competency counseling applicable to the psycho-social, structural, and complex-oriented social work;
  • To develop and implement social programmes and projects aimed at solving current problems of human, group, and societal life;
  • To master and employ social qualimetry methods in social project activities;
  • To develop and implement innovations in preservation and development of human resources, physical, psychological, and social health care;

In the field of administration and management:

  • To take part in development of strategies and specific programmes of the social policy and social work implementation at different levels of the executive branch of power of the Russian Federation;
  • To administer and manage activities of social services, institutions, and organisations at different levels of the executive branch of power of the Russian Federation;
  • To develop and implement social reporting indices;
  • To arrange and support social initiatives, to promote volunteering;
  • To control implementation of social programmes and projects in different social environments, socio-cultural and socio-territorial communities;

In the field of socio-technical activities:

  • To study the current social issues at institutions, organisations, and enterprises, to develop problem-solving actions;
  • To put into practice the techniques of settlement and prevention of social disputes,  assurance of the human, societal, and national social security;
  • To work out and implement efficient techniques of rendering social and economic, social and psychological, social and educational, and health care services specified by the national standards of the Russian Federation applicable to the public social service;
  • To generate recommendations on the development of labour organisation forms and the improvement of specialists’ employment conditions;
  • To consult the general public on the social law bases and enforcement of the law in the social security area;
  • To provide technical assurance of performance efficiency of the subjects of the psycho-social, structural, and complex-oriented social work.
