Name of the university
The name of the university given in the brand book is used in promotional and souvenir gifts, presentation and award materials in two languages.

To develop regional elite entrepreneurs focused on creation of research and innovative technologies in the field of iSmArt metallurgy for development of the cross-border South Ural Region and Russia.
iSmArt-metallurgy means “Intellectual metallurgy: an alloy of science and art” (i – intellectual, S - Science; m – metallurgy).

Logotype
The logotype design is comprised of a blue rhombus whose sides are surrounded by two parallel golden lines with a white field between. The rhombus serving as a basis for the design is a symbol of stability and steadiness.
In the centre of the blue rhombus, there is an open white book with an outlined black thin contour of pages, which is a symbol of an inexhaustible source of knowledge.
The top area of the rhombus contains a stylized image of the outside caliper, and the bottom one, a part of a gear. These graphics are attributed to scientific knowledge, and their relation to the book in the logotype highlights educational and scientific areas of activities of the university.
The wordmark of “МГТУ” is an abbreviated name of the university consisting of capital Russian letters in red framed with white lines. The wordmark of “МГТУ” is located in facing pages of the book, and lower, along the field of the gear, black capital and small letters of the word combination “им. Г.И. Носова” are placed in an arc.
A color set used in the stated logotype symbolizes the following: blue is commitment to the cause, red is the constant striving for knowledge, and white is the striving for excellence.
Moreover, such combination of colors (white, blue and red) indirectly reflects the state affiliation of the university.
