The Faculty of architecture and building engineering

The faculty of architecture and building engineering is over 60 years old. During these years a strong consolidated staff of teachers and servicing staff has been established, clear cut traditions and development perspectives have been shaped.

At present the faculty comprises 6 chairs, all of which confer diplomas to graduates. The teaching staff embraces 87 teachers; among them there are 6 doctors of science – professors, 37 candidates of science – assistant professors.

The faculty is in process of constant development, new chairs are formed, new directions of training and majors are offered. Specialist training is conducted according to 12 specialities:

  • “Architecture”;
  • “Architecture Environment Design”;
  • “Industrial and Civil Engineering”;
  • “Town Building and Economy”;
  • “The manufacture of building materials, items and structures”;
  • “Heat and gas supply and ventilation ”;
  • “Water supply and waterdrain ”;
  • “Car roads and airfields”;
  • “Building and structure design”;
  • “Expertise and real estate management”;
  • “Bachelors in building engineering”;
  • “Chemical technologies in refractory nonmetal and silicate materials”.

The scientists of the faculty do their research work according to the following directions:

  • the development, the investigation and implementation of architectural and building decisions, effective structures, intensification of assembly work in the conditions of the building reconstruction;
  • the energy audit in the communal and industrial buildings;
  • the development of energy saving heat and gas consuming systems;
  • the development of alternative power supply resources.
