The course consists of the following units and topics:
1. Introduction.
Topics: Definition of a transport and transport-technological system. Classification, components, and functions of the systems. Functioning of the Integrated transport system.
2. Transport hubs as the place of interaction of different transport modes.
Topics: Classification and purpose of hubs. Equipment of transport hubs. Characteristics of technical facilities. Types of works performed. Operating procedures of transport hubs. Freight transfer and handling procedures. Shipping paperwork. Dispatcher service.
3. Legal coordination at transport hubs.
Topics: Rights and obligations of participants of the transportation process. Types of contracts, basic terms of delivery. Reporting and claims activities. Charters, codes, and other regulatory documents.
4. Interaction of transport modes on the basis of logistic principles.
Topics: Logistic concepts. Combined shipment. Technology and organisation of multimodal and intermodal transport.
Activities:
- Teacher-led group activities in a classroom;
- Extracurricular self-study of the teacher’s assignments and tasks, including the use of educational facilities (obligatory);
- Tutorials.
