Course units:

  1. Principles of data processing. Information and its presentation. Computer as a data processor.
  2. Deployment of industrial networks. Structure of application packages. Matlab Simulink. The Drive Monitor software for data exchange and SIMOVERTVC and SIMOREGMD programming.
  3. Visualization of test and calculated data, preparation of video presentations. Up-to-date editing and printing software. 
  4. Prerequisites for development and evolution of computing networks. Introduction to neurocomputers.

Course contents:

This course gives a theoretical background in a number of areas related to engineering and modelling of different automated electric drive systems. The course gives an idea about modelling of DC and AC drive elements, focuses on understanding tasks and assumptions that form the basis for calculations and on engineering assessment of the outcome.

Activities:

  1. Teacher-led group activities in a classroom;
  2. Extracurricular self-study of the teacher’s assignments and tasks, including the use of educational facilities (obligatory);
  3. Office-hours.
