The seminar aimed to draw people’s attention to the history, culture and language of Germans living in Russia and to encourage young researchers from both Russia and Germany to study these areas.
Around thirty students and young researchers from Russia and Germany participated in the project, and Arina was among the participants. The seminar focused on such aspects of life of Russians from Germany as the history of social and political life, religion and church, literature, language and dialects.
“I was really impressed with the seminar. I met people coming from different places, and I came back with plenty of knowledge and books. Although our free time was limited, I did get to see a few sights and visit some libraries. Fulda, which is named ‘the Cradle of Catholicism’, has a lot of libraries,” comments Arina.
