Apart from the offices, the Danieli site in Buttrio houses a number of assembly facilities, automation divisions, an R&D centre and the test field ABS Steel. The recent visit marked the fourth time when the NMSTU staff and students took up practical training with Danieli.
The NMSTU delegation met with the Danieli experts who told about recent trends and technology and answered numerous questions. They also met with Vice President of Danieli Automation for Steelmaking to discuss prospective cooperation in R&D.
During a meeting with the leadership of Danieli Training Center, they talked about potential joint educational projects in specialist training.
Two of the NMSTU delegation also visited the University of Trieste, which NMSTU had signed a cooperation agreement with the previous year. The discussions touched upon the Erasmus+ academic mobility programmes, and the visitors handed over an official invitation from the NMSTU leadership to the engineering department of the University of Trieste welcoming them to visit NMSTU for teaching and general acquaintance with the Magnitogorsk university.
In their turn, the NMSTU lecturers from the delegation gave a couple of lectures to the local students and staff, which focused on electromagnetic compatibility of rolling mills, reactive power compensation in electric arc furnaces, as well as on advanced optimization techniques applied in the long products industry.
