NMSTU Holds Metal Cup 2017 Finals

For the first time Nosov Magnitogorsk State Technical University provided the venue for the preliminary stage of the International Championship in Metallurgical Technologies Metal Cup 2017. The championship is organized by the youth association of professional metallurgists from Krasnoyarsk.

The idea of the championship originated in the student community. Metal Cup provides a platform where students can demonstrate their professional skills and capabilities among their fellow students and the industry professionals.

The participating teams had two days to find solutions for the problem set. They were supposed to come up with a long-term development strategy for Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works, one of the leading steelmakers in Russia and in the world.

The winner – a team composed of the Master’s students – was named by a professional jury. The team is now to represent NMSTU at the next stage of the championship which is to take place in September 2017.
