Bolide of Dreams Style Garage among 3 best race cars

The contestants are challenged to design a bolide in a one-year timeframe that would meet the FSAE policy. The original policy is in English. So the very first challenge for the participants was to have 200 pages of English text translated before they could design and build the actual bolide. The bolide was then presented in front of world-class referees, such as representatives of Dallara Automobili.

“Every day we would start at 9 a.m. and finish well after midnight. We were supposed to perform different tasks and improve our bolide, so that it could pass the scrutineering inspection and qualify for dynamic tests. The participant teams would support each other in tackling different challenges in a strive to qualify for the next competition stage. Our team did very well in the COST REPORT category and took the 2nd place after a team from Saint Petersburg. The official language of the competition was English. It was a great success and a great experience for us!” said Evgeny Vetyugov, Project Leader for DREAMS STYLE Garage.

DREAMS STYLE Garage ended up winning the 3rd prize and leaving 8 teams behind. The NMSTU team views their success as a good start. They now intend to reinforce the team with more expertise and to design a new bolide that would be a little lighter and faster. If the students are successful at the preliminary stage of Formula Tyumen 2018, they will have a chance to take part in the international competition in Europe.
