At the extended meeting of the Council on Higher Education and Science of the Chelyabinsk Region, chaired by Governor Aleksey Teksler, the first results of the youth laboratories’ work were summarized. The laboratories were established a year ago at five regional universities with the support of the regional government and co-financing from industrial partners.
Students from West Africa, South Asia and Iraq arrived at the Nosov Magnitogorsk State Technical University for studying the Russian language and further admission to universities in the Chelyabinsk Region under the government quota. Young people will study in bachelor's, master's and postgraduate programs.
The Department of Linguistics and Translation of the Institute of Humanities conquered another peak and proved that good quality education in linguistics and teaching opened new professional and research horizons. Roman Smolnikov, a teaching assistant of the Department of Linguistics and Translation, taking an internship in China, won the China International College Students’ “Internet+” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition in the Liaoning Province organized by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, the Department of Education of the Liaoning Province and Dalian University of Foreign Languages.
With a lecture titled “Russia - China: Advanced Materials and Metallurgical Technologies within the Framework of Megagrant,” Hailiang Yu delivered a talk at Nosov Magnitogorsk State Technical University. Professor Yu, a representative of Central South University (Changsha, PRC), is a long-time partner and friend of the university, as well as one of the world’s leading experts in metallurgy and materials science. According to Scopus data, he ranked second globally in citations among all scientists in 2024 and is included in the top 2% of the most influential scientists worldwide, as identified by Scopus and Stanford University.
The project “Study on 3D printing with advanced high-strength steels with TRIP effect for manufacturing self-adapting structural elements used in the aerospace industry” has been conducted by the scientists from NMSTU and the University of Padua (Padua, Italy) for three years.
