Forgotten Treasure. After 30 Years NMSTU Researcher Unveils Ancient Coins

The NMSTU professor Mikhail Abramzon has published the so far largest collection of ancient Bosporan coins dating back to the 3rd-4th centuries AD, which had been stored at the Anapa Museum of Archeology for 30 years. The treasure of 1,061 coins shed light on certain historical periods, and namely, the rule of the Bosporan kings Radamsades and Rescuporid VI and the process of inflation during the Later Bosporus period.

NMSTU Among TOP-300 Universities of Emerging Europe and Central Asia

Nosov Magnitogorsk State Technical University retained its position in the annual QS Emerging Europe and Central Asia ranking.

For the 4th year in a row, NMSTU is ranked among TOP-300 Universities of Emerging Europe and Central Asia being the best out of 73 universities of the region in terms of faculty staff with PhD. And according to Webometrics, NMSTU has seen growth in the effectiveness of its web resources.

Postgraduates from Three Ural Universities Gather at Yunost

On October 5th, NMSTU’s Yunost resort witnessed a workshop which was organized for postgraduate students and had the following official title: IEEE Russian Workshop on Power Engineering and Automation of Metallurgy Industry: Research & Practice. The workshop was organized by the South Ural IEEE Chapter, South Ural State University (National Research University) from Chelyabinsk and Nosov Magnitogorsk State Technical University.

The two years of joint effort between NMSTU and United Steel Industries FZCin El Fujairah, UAE, yielded the first result – a steel mill was put into operation following a long period of downtime. The participants of the start-up procedure included experts from RnD MGTU, researchers from NMSTU and employees of the plant.

NMSTU Researchers Wish FEDOR a Successful Space Trip

This day has come! Today, on the Day of the National Flag of the Russian Federation, the famous robot from Magnitogorsk called FEDOR has gone into space. This marks the first trip of the Russian android robot to the International Space Station. NMSTU researchers, who had examined FEDOR earlier, wished FEDOR a good flight and a successful in-orbit test.
